Our client, who sustained a work-related injury to his spine and legs while employed as a truck driver, had his claim denied by Social Security at both the Initial Application and Reconsideration levels. After a hearing with an Administrative Law Judge, our client was determined to be disabled due to the need for additional work breaks totaling one hour per day, beyond the usual break periods. The Judge highlighted our client’s reliance on a cane for standing, walking, and rising from a chair, as well as the reduced motor strength and severe neuropathy in his lower extremities, which supported the finding of disability.
